‚Soft Touch‘ deals with the potential of sensitive machines in handicrafts. Preformed ceramic bodies are worked in a leather-hard state using a machine developed in-house: Sensors sense the object's surface and guide different tools along it. While the uniform patterns are digitally pre-programmed, the contours of the notches result from the shape of the tool. The different colored porcelain layers highlight the structure of the material as a design element.
