Matthias Lehr likes to add playful elements to his cast utility objects of purist functionality that are only visible at second glance.
In his workshop with its own foundry, he develops his own alloys from recycled metal according to recipes which - depending on the design objective - give the objects unique properties in terms of material composition, color or patina.
He pays particular attention to old techniques that were thought to be lost.
