Peter de Vries, who initially worked as an optician, has lived in Hamburg since 1989. It was here that he discovered his love of hats. The autodidact bought machines and started his hat production. The Dutch-born designer is particularly interested in changeable shapes. In 2004, de Vries patented his hat creation "The Sushehat". A hat with 9 shape variations with which he won several awards. Peter de Vries' interest in changeable shapes is also evident in his straw hat variations.
