I am a sculptor and draughtswoman. I am guided by the question of when and how artistic values arise and how they materialise. In doing so, I explore different techniques, media and materials. The exciting thing about the work is when an object suddenly, you never know when, shows its presence. It doesn't matter whether it is an abstract drawing or a utilitarian vessel, for example. The same hidden criteria apply to both. I try, after the values in art have been shifted very much to the outside - to the viewer's head, the included space, the political effectiveness - to put the value back into the object, the artwork itself, and to give it an autonomy. I want to be able to evolve and change, along with my work, and avoid repetition or variation. I am interested in getting to know traditional techniques - in order to then torpedo them!
