“Shapes of Destruction” is an art project that uses a hybrid of digital technology and craft techniques to explore the aesthetics of environmental destruction during a global crisis. Shapes found on Google Earth carved into the Amazon rainforest canopy are translated into tufted rugs and 2D textile works. Using visual and artistic research, these forms are re-contextualized to represent or question the aesthetics of environmental destruction.
