Birgit Wortmann makes scarves and accessories for men and women.
She achieves the unusual color effects of the accessories by dyeing the warp threads; the striking colorations become visible in the lengthwise direction of the fabric. The monochromatic weft thread encounters different shades, and new harmonious color combinations are created in seamless transitions.
Since Wortmann uses very thin yarns, scarves, stoles and ties have a particularly light and pleasantly soft drape.
